Terrencourt

Terrencourt
Terrencourt is a measured therapeutic walking on specially organized routes with ascents and descents. This method combines physical activity, climate and landscape therapy, as well as an impact on the psycho-emotional state. It is one of the most effective and gentle ways to restore the body in a resort setting.

Regular route walking promotes:

  • normalization of blood pressure;
  • improvement of heart and vascular function;
  • increased endurance;
  • activation of metabolic processes;
  • strengthening of the respiratory and musculoskeletal systems;
  • reduction of anxiety and tension.
Routes on the sanatorium territory

Guests have access to three levels of difficulty:

  • Easy route — up to 1000 m;
  • Medium route — up to 1500 m;
  • Hard route — up to 3000 m.
The paths are paved, have gentle slopes, and are equipped with rest areas. Each route allows for individually tailored loads depending on health status and physical fitness level.

Rules and recommendations

  • The optimal time for walking is in the morning or evening, before meals or 1.5–2 hours after eating.
  • Clothing and footwear should be comfortable, with cushioned soles.
  • Begin at a slow pace (60–80 steps per minute).
  • The pace and length of the route should gradually increase according to the body's adaptation.
Intensity control

Walking intensity is assessed by the number of steps per minute and changes in heart rate (HR):

  • 60–70 steps/min — load of 200–250 kgm/min, HR 110–120 bpm;
  • 70–80 steps/min — moderate load, gradual increase in HR;
  • 80–90 steps/min — pace with significant load;
  • from 100 steps/min — high load, HR 130–140 bpm.
Increasing physical load is achieved by increasing distance, walking pace, and reducing the number of rest stops.
